Monument began life in 2016 by a group of engineers and designers after looking for an easy solution to back up and organize photos scattered across multiple hard drives and computers without giving up on privacy and security. After launching the product for pre-orders on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, we shipped our first generation product in 2017.

Since the launch of the original Monument, we have been listening to the immense feedback from our community and improved the experience in every way. By introducing Monument Cloud, we're bringing even more features to provide a better photo management experience.
